CELTEK Traction battery finds applications in electrically powered vehicles like fork lift trucks, tow trucks, power trolleys, lifting platforms and for many other industrial traction applications.
CELTEK Traction battery is made up of a number of traction cells of 2 volts each to suit the operational demands of particular application. The cell assembled in high-grade plastic container is housed in a mild-steel tank, which is coated with an anti-acid-resistant, anti-corrosive paint. The cells are connected with welded joints made of lead alloy with an anti corrosive coating. The splash-proof vent plugs fitted to the cells prevent the spilling of the electrolyte.
Each Traction cell is assembled in a high-grade plastic container containing CELTEK Hi-performance tubular positive plates in premium Glaspol tubular bags, pasted negative plates manufactured under exacting control to withstand rough handling and electrically separated by high quality Microtex PVC separators.
The tubular positive plates have specially designed spines cast from corrosion resistant lead-antimony-arsenic alloy ensconced in the tubular bag which is vibro-filled with active material and pickled, thus ensuring high-rate discharge, more resistant and long life with excellent reserve capacity.
The pasted negative plates, made up from a blend of oxides, special additives and expanders, aid in cell longevity. The high quality Microtex PVC separators provide high electrical insulation between the plates with low internal resistance for improved battery performance.
The high-grade plastic containers are resistant to acid, temperature and the gases emitted by the cell. Short-circuit between plates due to sediments is avoided by the use of prismatic sediment spacer placed at the bottom of the plastic container on which the plates rest. The splash-proof vent plugs prevent escape of electrolyte. The hard rubber top cover gives a perfect airtight sealing to the cell. CELTEK lead acid Traction batteries are dry charged and are low maintenance batteries.
